ARTIST STATEMENTS 2018

My inspiration for this piece was the fact that it is October and Halloween is right around the corner. The mummy gave off the scary vibe so i decided to go with it and i think it turned out ok. I also wanted to do it because i like spooky things.

The process of this piece was to first sketch out the outline than i added the white where the highlights are than started to layer the colors up. With the lightest colors first and move to the dark. Then i blinded with my finger and the tools to get the textures i needed.

My inspiration for this piece was the high rate for teen drug overdose. From the year 2014 to 2015 the rate on overdose grew 19%.

The process of this piece was to sketch out the hand and start the layers on the arm and worked my way to the fingers. Then I did the blood and knife. After that I did the another layer on the hand. last the background and pills falling out the hand.

My inspiration for the piece is a song by Taylor Swift called "all you had to do was stay".

The process of this piece was to mix the right colors only using red, white and black. It took many layers to cover the whole canvas and was hard to get the same color ever time.

My inspiration for this piece is my dream dog, a cane corso. Cane Corso is my all tame favorite dog.

The process of this piece started with sketching the dog than picking out where I wanted to put the ripped skin. After that I figured out where the gears needed to go. the hardest part was drawing perfect gears. than I shaded and blended.

My inspiration for this piece was that feet have great texture and value so I thought it would be kind of challenging because i never did a pen and ink piece.

The process of this piece was to cross lines to show value and form. I looked a a picture of a foot to see where parts where higher than others to curve the lines to make it look real.

ARTIST STATEMENTS 2019

My piece is a portrait of Leonardo Dicaprio. The most obvious element is value. To create my piece I started with mapping the picture out with a grid, than I sketched out the basic parts of his face and started with the eyes and worked around, down to the nose. after his face was complete I did his hand and then the background. last I did his hair. As I was doing this piece I started with all the light colors first and than finished with the darker ones. My inspiration for the piece was that i believe leo is such an amazing actor and I always love his work.  The emotion I tried to convey was a youthful teenager at the start of his career, lost. My goal as an artist was to get my art work to look like his as much as possible. I believe that I reached my goal because my prepositions are right. By creating this piece I learned how to use the value scale a little more and how to blend and work with the colors. Overall I liked my piece because of the detail, but I do think I could have done better within some elements because it was a learning process for me. I will us what I learned on this piece for the future because it really does make a difference.

My piece is a picture of my uncle kiki who was in the marine corps and he has past. I used acrylic paint. To create it i used artist paste and a palette knife. My uncle was the reason i did this piece because when we started was they day that he past. One of my goals as an artist was to try different things as i did with the palette knife. It did help me Reach my Goal because I went out and tried different styles and i believe it worked out and they all tied together. The final was not how i visioned it but i guess it still kind of worked. It will help me work in the future because i know i can do new styles and techniques.

My piece was created from thin tan paper and prisms color pencils. The techniques i used started with adding light white to my lighter area and white to the highlights. Then i started to build up color by adding many layers. Last i burnished with the white pencils.

My inspiration for this piece was the human brain because it is what is controlling our whole body. My work was to show the brain within a dead young boy.

My goal with this piece is to make the face as real as possible including the brain. But also want it to be a little not by making him purple. This piece was hard for me because i am heavy handed and at first pushed to hard and burnished my paper before i even had color on it. I do not feel i accomplished my piece because i didn't add enough color and you can tell.

Overall, my piece didnt turn out the way i thought. It is realistic to a curtain extent. But now after this piece i now understand how to properly use the pencils.

My art work is a piece of johnny depp. It is an exaggerated piece that shows his features that stand out the most. I used acrylic paint to create my piece. Within my piece i used a wide verity on elements such as value, texture and space. As well as principles like balance and unity. The title of my piece is "Johnny Depp".

My media is a canvas board and acrylic paint. All i used to create this piece was paint brushes, acrylic, and water. One major technique i used when making the smoke was to combine the white paint with water to thin it out to get the smokey look.

Justin Bua was the inspiration for this piece. IN my piece i showed Johnny who is a phenomenal actor that is not in a roll and just himself.

My goals as an artist is to improve not only within my work but as a person and to open up to new ideas. This piece helps me by bringing me outside my comfort zone and to try new things.

While creating this piece i learned new techniques as well as not over doing a piece that more is not always better. The outcome is not how i imagined it but i don't hate it for once. This piece will influence my work in the future by using what i learned on a new piece and making it even better.

my art work looks like a egg with holes in it. it is made out of clay. the title of this piece is light. balance and value are within my piece.

the make this piece is use the coil method. water, clay, my hands, and a straw was all i used to make this piece.

i use pinterest to help inspire my art. no it does not express and personal or social issue.

my goal for this piece was to make a working lantern. my goal as in artist is to try new things and grow.

it influence my as in artist by me not using clay because im terrible at it and its messy.
